E-flow workshop · a fictional basin

First identify the water body.
Then choose its assessment route.

One connected system, different assessment questions. Follow a teaching case from the basin plan to an explicit result—or a recorded gap.

1

Which water body are we assessing?

Conceptual map only. These are fictional units and assumed records, not official geography or designations.

R1's three rungs are alternative evidence and resource situations for the same river. They are not three inherent types of river.

A candidate, with its limits visible

Present-climate naturalised reference ≠ currently available water ≠ deliverable or delivered water.

The saved basin is a different dataset. Its fixed 30% reference criterion stays unchanged. R1 and wb-upstream are a teaching analogy, not the same assessment unit.

    4

Return the record to the basin plan

Quantity findings support a planning decision. They do not establish ecological status.

    What can be recorded?

    Who acts next?

A natural shortage may affect ecological condition. A delivery shortfall needs investigation of operations, losses and measurements by the responsible authority; missing evidence is not proof of a violation.
